THRIVE offers services to dog owners that support you and to feel confident and in tune with your dog.
It is my objective to help you feel a strong connection with your dog. Having a trusting relationship and loving to be with each other's is the foundation for successfully teaching them necessary behaviours, social skills and general obedience.
I teach you to understand your dog and show you how to cope with situations that are complicated or stressful for you. I will show you how to move away from the constant "no, no no" towards behaviour that you wish for in your everyday life together.
I will help you feel a strong connection with your dog. A trusting relationship and feeling totally comfortable in each other's company is the basis for successfully teaching behaviours, social skills and obedience.
I will make sure you have fun with your dog and will teach you to play games with your pet that meet their natural, breed specific desires.
PLAY is a powerful way to CONNECT with your dog. By having fun together you will LEARN about handling and caring for your dog with an attitude of joy. I believe that by creating kind and positive learning conditions you and your dog will THRIVE.

"My 6 month old Golden Labrador Ollie and I have completed a 6 weeks puppy course with Ruth from Thrive Dog Care at the Dolmen Centre. The course is geared towards small groups 3 maximum. Ollie has learned obedience and calmness without yelling or punishment. He also interacts better with other dogs. I have become more confident and calmer as his handler. It was enjoyable for both of us.
Ruth is an excellent teacher. She is dedicated to her training, giving clear instructions and answering individual queries and concerns. She posted videos of the classes on a WhatsApp group so we could continue training at home. I am looking forward to joining her next session of outdoor classes.
